Name: Quinn Pitcock
Position: DT / TE
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 295 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.64
Bench Press: 335 pounds
School: Piqua High, Piqua, Ohio

Quinn averaged about 7 tackles, and more than a sack per game this past season.  He is being recruited by many schools to play defensive tackle.

"I have about 11 official scholarship offers on paper, and I don't know how many unofficial," Quinn said.

Quinn took an official visit to Ohio State a month ago (11/30).  This month, he will be taking official visits to Penn State (1/11), Duke (1/18) and Florida (1/25).

He may visit Notre Dame officially as well.

"I did set one up with Notre Dame (12/7), but they cancelled it because of the coaching situation."

Quinn said that he will "probably" take an official visit to Notre Dame even though the Fighting Irish have not yet been back in touch with him.

Does he have a favorite?

"Not really, probably just Ohio State because I've seen it and been there."

PSU is Quinn second favorite team.

Was he an Ohio State fan growing up?

"Not really, but to a point yeah, just because it's my home state."

Although his family is not putting any pressure on Quinn to choose Ohio State, "friends and other people in town do."

Does that have an impact on him?

"It does, and then also it kind of annoys me at times."

Quinn will take an official visit to Penn State on January 11.

"I like the defensive coach, Coach Johnson, and how they set the defensive line.

"I was there sometime early in the summer.  I went with my family for an unofficial visit. The whole city was nice."

Did his family like Penn State?

"They liked it.  The only problem was with it being 8 hours away."

Could distance to a prospective school factor into Quinn's decision?

"It could."

According to Quinn, Ohio State is one and a half hours away.

Penn State coach Jay Paterno is recruiting Quinn as a defensive tackle.

During Quinn's unofficial visit to Penn State, he had the opportunity to talk with head coach Joe Paterno in his office.  Coach Paterno did not make any promises to Quinn regarding early playing time.

"Joe Paterno said straight up that you never know what could happen.  They're not promising anything.  He said that it depends on how much you work."
