Penn State Covets Speedy Corner

He runs a 4.35 40-yard dash and has offers from several schools including Miami. Will he take an official visit to Penn State?

Name: I-Perfection Harris
Position: RB / CB
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.35 (Ohio State football camp)
School: Poly Prep, Brooklyn, NY

I-Perfection played corner and running back for Poly Prep this past season.

"I had about a thousand yards and 10 touchdowns," Harris said.  "I also had about 300 yards receiving, but no touchdowns.  On defense, I had about 30 tackles and 1 or 2 interceptions."

Did teams seem to avoid the talented defender?

"Yeah, they didn't throw my way at all this year.  It was weird.  I had around 4 interceptions last year."

Teammate Jahkeen Gilmore was the other corner.

"His primary position is receiver.  He's looking at a bunch of places.  He's looking at Michigan State, Maryland, Pitt, Wisconsin and some others."

Kwakou Robinson, who has committed to Virginia, also played for Poly Prep.

Harris took an official visit to Duke in December.  He visited Georgia Tech this past weekend and apparently enjoyed his visit.  The Yellow Jackets are his favorite team at this time.

"I like the city of Atlanta.  It looks like it has a really nice, social life.  The Georgia Tech football program is great, and they have good academics.  They also have a great tradition of football.  They're a winning program and they're just going to get better."

I-Perfection does not have any other official visits scheduled, and does not believe he will take all 5 official visits.

"I'm probably going to visit Penn State and maybe Arizona.  I'm not really sure I'm going to visit Arizona."

According to Harris, he has offers from Miami, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Rutgers and Duke.  Penn State and Arizona have not yet offered.

He is being recruited as a corner back. He would also like to participate in track.

Penn State coach Brian Norwood is recruiting I-Perfection, and calls him once a week.

"They started recruiting me a while back, and then relaxed.  Just recently, they came back into the picture.  They were saying how they need coverage cornerbacks.  They always have the big, strong corners, but they need that speedy, cover corner.  They started looking at me again and reevaluating me.

"I'm pretty sure Joe Paterno and Coach Norwood are coming to my school next Tuesday to talk to all 3 of us (Harris, Robinson and Gilmore).

"They have that strong football tradition.  They have a growing track team, and great facilities for football and track.  They have good academics also.  And, it's Penn State, you know?  It's like every child's dream.

"If Penn State offers, I'm going to visit and see what they have and then just wait.  They want me to visit heavily, but if they don't offer, I'm not going to visit."

He has never been to Penn State.

Distance to a prospective school is not a concern for Harris.

Harris is already academically qualified.
