"Yes, I called the coaches on Friday," J.R. said. "I talked to Coach Paterno and Coach Ron Vanderlinden."

Zwierzynski is not sure whether he will be playing on offense or defense for the Nittany Lions.

"Linebacker or running back," J.R. said.  "I talked to Coach Paterno and he said, 'You know, we don't really know where we got you, you're either going to play linebacker or running back'.  I think they're still in the process of making a decision.

"It doesn't really matter to me.  I like both positions and whichever one I would be able to perform the best in is the one I'd want to play."

Penn State has not talked to him about where recent verbals Chris Wilson and Grant Miller will play.

A couple of days ago, J.R. said that his parents were hoping he would choose Northwestern because of the academics and proximity.  J.R. wanted to play for Penn State.

"I just told them that [Penn State] was where I was going to be most happy.  They understood, and they're very supportive."
