Wright was named Big Ten co-Player of the Week after averaging 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and five assists in Lady Lions wins against Illinois and Indiana last week.
Portland said the team is slightly disappointed with not being ranked, but it isnt important in the grand scheme of things. Our goal is to win the Big Ten title, and so when [the teams weve beaten] all stay ranked in the Top 25 and we dont, it makes you shake your head, she said. But you know, when we came back from Christmas, we erased the slates and said lets go get ready for Ohio State, and the kids showed they were mature enough to do that.
