Last night Justin King was crowned as the Mercury Award winner by the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. Justin actually shared the award with Eugene Jarvis of Central Catholic.
This is the fourth year The Mercury Award has been presented to be top football player in the WPIAL. Justin is the second Nittany Lion to receive the honor during its short history, with Paul Posluszny
winning the award two years ago.
Seven finalists were up for the award, including Justin's future teammate Sean Lee from Upper St. Clair.
Justin adds The Mercury Award with a slew of other honors he has received this past season, including:
SuperPrep Top 25 Selection (#7)
U.S. Army All-American
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 selection
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Terrific 25 selection
Pennsylvania AAAA First Team All-State selection
Congratulations Justin on another great honor.
