Shuler Joins PSU's Class

With Letter of Intent Day tomorrow, Penn State is making the final push to close out its recruiting class. This afternoon the Nittany Lions added tight end prospect Mickey Shuler to their class.

Shuler, the son of former Penn State and New York Jets tight end Mickey Shuler, is following in his father's footsteps in terms of the position he plays. Now he's decided to take the same path when it comes to his college career.

Shuler announced his college choice today at 1:00 pm at East Pennsboro Area Senior High School at a small press conference.

His offer from Penn State was reportedly contingent on where four other prospects on the PSU board ended up. The four prospects listed as deciding factors in this decision were:

Jared Gaither
Walker Ashley
Todd Nolen
Jerome Hayes

Reportedly, Mickey received a scholarship from the Lions and will not greyshirt this year, which was discussed as a possiblity with the Shuler family.
