Nick is being recruited to play middle linebacker, the position he plays in high school.
"This year, they're thinking about using me at fullback or tight-end," Nick said.
Nick does not yet have any scholarship offers at this early stage. However, several college football coaching staffs have already taken notice of the talented linebacker.
"A couple of things that they said they liked about me was my quickness and how I get to the ball. They said that I have a really fast side-to-side motion and that I can really cover the field quickly. I have pretty good size too, to play on the inside."
According to Nick, Penn State and Boston College seem to be the schools most interested in him right now. He is also getting letters from Michigan State, Ohio State, Syracuse and others.
Nick did not attend the junior day at Penn State this past weekend.
"No, I didn't get anything in the mail about it.
"I went to the Boston College junior day last weekend. I liked it a lot, it was great. They gave me a tour and everything. I got to see the school and talk to the coaches.
"I've really been talking to Brian St. Pierre, the quarterback at Boston College. He went to my high school. He graduated the year before I was
there, but I've been talking to him a lot."
Nick did not attend any summer camps prior to last season.
"No, I didn't go to any camps because I was rehabbing my knee. I had a knee injury (ACL tear) and I missed my whole sophomore season."
Nick recovered to have a terrific junior season.
"I think I averaged 10 tackles a game, one-third of them were for losses.
"I believe I had 15 sacks. I played in 12 games. We were 11-1. We lost to Everett in the playoffs (semi-finals)."
Does Nick have any favorites?
"I'm interested in Boston College and Penn State. I like them all so far. Everyone that talks to me, I'm really interested in all of them equally. I'm hoping I get to see them all and to check them out."
Nick plans to go to a camp at Boston College this summer.
"I'm planning on maybe going to [Penn State's] summer camp as well."
Penn State has shown a lot of interest in Nick.
"They send letters to me. They send them through the school and they send them to my house.
"They also talk to my coach. The letters I get are from
Jay Paterno. I think the person that talks to my coach is the linebacker's coach."
