Offers Mount for Jersey LB

Fresh off a pair of unofficial visits to Penn State and Notre Dame, West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep linebacker/tight end Alex Wujciak, 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, has added his fifth scholarship offer.

But it was not from the Nittany Lions or Fighting Irish.

"Duke has offered me, and I think Boston College and Virginia are on the verge of offering," Wujciak said.

Wujciak visited University Park, Pa., last Thursday.

"It was real nice,” he said of the Penn State visit. “We toured the campus, and met the academic advisor and some of the players. The highlight of the visit was meeting Joe Paterno."

In 2004, Wujciak registered 140 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles on defense in 2004. On offense he caught 20 passes for 450 yards and two touchdowns. Wujciak earned third-team All-State, first-team All-Parochial, All-Essex county and All-Conference (Iron Hills) honors.

His other current offers are from Maryland, Michigan State, Rutgers and Syracuse.

Wujciak is planning on attending the Elite College Combine in New Jersey May 4.
