Penn State Sizes Up Tilley

As curious as it may be to Buckeye fans, one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Ohio has still not been offered by Ohio State. There's no worries for Tilley though since thirty two teams have now have offered the big man. Have the Nittany Lions joined the pack?

According to Springfield South (Ohio.) offensive coordinator Jeremy Beckham, Jay Paterno visited his school on Thursday. What was Paterno's mission you might ask? To visit with and eye ball 6-foot-7 and 310 pound, offensive tackle Lee Tilley, the visit was productive as Tilley walked away with his 32nd scholarship offer.

"Jay Paterno came to the school today to offer Lee Tilley," Beckham said "Paterno couldn't believe his size, when he saw Lee he said this has to be Tilley there can't be many guys around this size."

"They want Lee to come to the Ohio State game, so he can see what Penn State has to offer him."

Now is the interest mutual?

"He really hasn't had much time to think about it yet," Beckham said. He's just taking it all in. I think he has some interest in them."

Penn State wasn't the only school in town as South Carolina also paid a visit, and the Gamecocks followed suit with an offer.

"We've had over 40 coaches come into the school so far," Beckham said.

Tilley will participate in the All-American Invitational. The combine will be held on May 28th at the University of Akron. After the combine Beckham said it may be time to narrow the field.

"We'll sit down and discuss everything and try to narrow things down to a more manageable number," Beckham said.
