Michigan Verbal to Visit Penn State

It may not be a reason for Nittany Lions fans to rejoice just yet, but Scout.com learned Tuesday that Penn State has offered one of the top linebacker prospects in the nation. There’s one hitch: The linebacker in question has made a verbal commitment to Michigan.

Despite an early verbal pledge to Michigan, Detroit Crockett Technical linebacker Brandon Graham, 6-foot-2 and 238 pounds, continues to receive offers. And according to Coach Rod Oden, Graham will visit other schools.

"He'll likely visit Georgia, Miami, USC, Florida State, Notre Dame and Penn State this summer," Oden said. "Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State have offered. I know he's going to USC June 9, and Miami and Penn State later in the summer for sure."

“Coach [Ron] Vanderlinden is recruiting him for Penn State,” Oden said. “I have a defensive tackle up there, Ed Johnson, so Brandon is going there this summer.”

In order to get both sides of the story, Scout.com also spoke with Graham about his commitment to the Wolverines.

“I would say I’m really set on my commitment to Michigan,” Graham said. “I just want to see what some of the other schools have offer.”

Graham will compete in the Scout.com All-American Invitational at the University of Akron May 28. Graham is anxious to get to the combine.

“I’m really looking forward to competing in Akron, I can’t wait,” Graham said.
