PSU's Captains Meet The Media

What went down at Thurday's press conference? See and hear for yourself. Fight On State brings you video and audio coverage of the event, which featured Nittany Lion captains Michael Robinson, Alan Zemaitis and Paul Posluszny.

The Penn State football program held a rare early July press conference at the Lasch Building Thursday, and used the occasion to announce a new fantasy camp which is launching in 2006 and formally introduce a new set of captains who will take the field in 2005.

While the information on the fantasy camp was interesting, the captains stole the show. Quarterback Michael Robinson and cornerback Alan Zemaitis, a pair of fifth-year seniors, along with junior linebacker Paul Posluszny, are intent on bringing a new level of energy to a program that has sustained back-to-back losing season.

If their enthusiasm Thursday was any indication, they are well on their way to accomplishing that goal.

“The No. 1 thing on the team is to have all the players on the team believe in each other and believe they can get it done,” Zemaitis said. Later, he added, “We're spokesmen for the team, but every guy feels the same way we do: passionate about the team and passionate about Penn State.”

“We're in attack mode,” Robinson added. “We're playing with a sense off urgency.”
