Interest in Carter Growing

Though the Nittany Lions have not offered him, Brent Carter still remains interested. Carter visited University Park not so long ago. The Pottstown native gives us an update on his trip and the latest on his recruitment.

One of the fastest rising prospects in the Keystone State is Pottsgrove High running back/defensive back Brent Carter (6-3, 195, 4.55). Carter has received eight offers to date.

“I have offers from West Virginia, North Carolina, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisville, Boston College,” Carter said. “I’m getting interest from Purdue, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech.”

Carter took unofficial visits recently to Penn State and North Carolina.

Penn State: “I really enjoyed myself there they have great facilities. Penn State is a big football school. I really like that they seem to treat their players well.”

North Carolina: It’s a very family oriented school, everyone there seems really close.”

Carter is open as far as favorites are concerned.

“I just want to take my time and see what happens.”

In 2004, despite missing two games due to an ankle sprain, Carter ran for 1,200 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-League, and All-Area.
