NJ Lineman Likes the Nits

The big offensive/defensive tackle has attended summer camps at Penn State for the past couple of years. The Nittany Lions and several other top programs are very interested in the talented lineman.

Name: Ryan Devlin
Position: OT, DT
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 270 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8
School: Kingsway High School, Swedesboro, NJ

"We have another kid [besides Dorien Bryant] that Penn State's looking at," Kingsway head coach Tony Barchuk said.  "His name is Ryan Devlin and he's 6'3", 270. He plays offensive and defensive tackle for us.

"He's really got great feet.  He runs around a 4.8 40-yard dash.  He's probably better than that (4.8), I'm being conservative with him.

"He's getting a lot of looks from the big boys like Georgia, Penn State, Boston College, Maryland and Ohio State.  He does not have an offer yet.  I just sent out the tapes.  I'm sure once they see him, they're going to love him.

"He's a big kid that can really move.  He's big, strong and can run.  He's a good one.  He can really pick'em up and put'em down.

"Ryan was 1st Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Group 2 and 2nd Team All-South Jersey."

Ryan also attended the February 16 junior day at Penn State.

"He was at the Penn State camp last year as a sophomore."

Who are some of Ryan's early favorites?

"I'm sure he loves the Nittany Lions.  He's been going there (summer camps) for 2 or 3 years already.  He's planning on going back again too, I know that for a fact.  I work there every year too.

"I think Coach Norwood recruits this area, but Coach Fran [Ganter] is the guy I talk to most of time."

Coach Barchuk believes that Ryan will attend the Nike Camp at Penn State on April 21.
