Zemaitis Down With the Sound

The Penn State athletic administration came under fire for playing loud rap music before and during the Nittany Lions' 23-13 win over South Florida at Beaver Stadium last Saturday. According to team captain and starting cornerback Alan Zemaitis, however, he and his teammates thought the tunes were great.

“The players really enjoyed that,” Zemaitis said Wednesday. “We're not allowed to have headphones when we're in the locker room and stuff like that. When I go out and play, I'd rather not listen to jazz music or opera music. With the change this year, it gets me a little geared up, it gets the blood going a little bit. And that's just not me, it's all the players.

“We're the only stadium that doesn't play that kind of music,” he added. “When we go to away games, they're always playing something that is popular at the time. I kind of like the fact that we had some music that some of the guys on the squad can relate to.”
