OVERALL: Obviously a strong showing. But you get the feeling Penn State still has plenty of room for improvement.

OFFENSE: Give Michael Robinson and company credit for not getting frustrated following a rough first half.
Grade: B+

DEFENSE: Another dominating effort by one of the nation's best units until the score got out of hand late. Too many mistakes tackles, too.
Grade: C+

SPECIAL TEAMS: Anxious to see how they do in a nail-biter.
Grade: B

COACHING: Smart to stick with Robinson through the early struggles.
Grade: B+

INTANGIBLES: Once the Lions tasted blood they put the game away.
Grade: B

OTHER GUYS: Second straight team that was overmatched but kept on fighting.
Grade: C-

OFFICIALS: Another whacky roughing-the-punter penalty on PSU, but the Lions benefited from a phantom blow to the head call.
Grade: D+
