First off, Dan Connor returned to practice yesterday, seeing his reps with the scout team at linebacker. Connor was wearing the white scout jersey with number 99, as he played the role of Central Michigan linebacker Leython Williams. It is unclear if he will continue to see his reps with the scout unit, but as one observer shared, "I think he'll finish out the weak there. He provides a great test for this offense."
On the other side of the ball, Rodney Kinlaw returned to practice this week after recovering from a knee sprain sustained during preseason practice. Kinlaw "looked good" with his reps and was described as "super fast" and "looks like he has fully recovered" from the preseason injury.
As for the rest of the tailbacks, the breakdown is as follows:
Hunt continues to be the clear front-runner according to observers now that he "seems to have a handle on holding onto the ball."
In or last set of notes we covered some shifts in the wideout corps with Terrell Golden and Ethan Kilmer dropping down to the second team earlier this week. Well, as of yesterday's practice, Golden was back getting some first-team reps. Here is how the wideout depth chart looks as of today:
The offensive line contines to be:
Reed continues to wear the green second-team jersey in practice, but has seen his reps with the first team this week. Coach Joe Paterno was not particularly pleased with his play yesterday, feeling that he is not progressing forward fast enough with his play.
Jimmy Shaw is not practicing currently, however one observer said, "He looks very close to being ready."
