At 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, Eric Latimore is hard to miss. The staff of FightOnState.com did not notice Latimore at Penn State on Saturday when he was supposed to be in town for his official visit. According to Latimore, circumstances intervened.
I had something come up so I couldn't make it down, Latimore said. I'm trying to reschedule the visit for Oct. 8.
Latimore will actually make a trip before his official visit.
I think I'm going there this weekend to see the game on an unofficial visit, he said.
Latimore did make a scheduled official visit to Pitt on Sept. 3.
The first time I was there it was hazy and the city had like a lazy look to it, Latimore said. This time it was sunny out and the city looked so beautiful. I had a chance to tour the college and see the academic center. I got a real good feel for what they have to offer. The game was awesome, that was the first college game I have seen in person.
They played their hearts out, he said. This is Wannstedt's first year, he is building his program.
Don't expect a decision anytime soon as Latimore has decided there are a few schools that he would like to see.
Latimore and his Middletown (Del.) High team traveled to Downingtown (Pa.) West last weekend and won 42-14. Latimore registered eight tackles, a forced fumble, a blocked punt and a sack. In an interesting twist, Downingtown East quarterback and Miami verbal Pat Devlin was at the game and spoke to Latimore.
He's a nice kid, he wanted to talk about Miami with me, he said.
Stay tuned to FightOnState.com as we will have the latest on Latimore's trip or trips to University Park.
