CMU: FOS Report Card

Good grades all around following the Nittany Lions' dominating performance.

OVERALL: OK, so this was Central Michigan and not Michigan. But when was the last time Penn State played with this much attitude?
Grade: A

OFFENSE: Good news for the Lions: Passing game clicking heading into the Big Ten portion of the schedule.
Grade: A

DEFENSE: Stiffened even when offense and special teams gave CMU great field position. Also unveiled an intense pass rush just in time for the conference campaign.
Grade: A

SPECIAL TEAMS: Fumbled punt return by Calvin Lowry, bad snap on PAT and Kevin Kelly's missed field goal could have hurt in a tight game.
Grade: D+

COACHING: Aggressive play on offense and defense made a huge difference in this one.
Grade: A

INTANGIBLES: Chippewas seemed intimidated when the Lions turned up the heat.
Grade: B

OTHER GUYS: CMU had its hands full. But props to Kent Smith for being one tough sum-a-gun.
Grade: C-

OFFICIALS: Zebras seemed to be on the money all afternoon.
Grade: B+

CROWD: We don't believe the number: 100,276.
