Player of the Week: Ohio State

Despite their mighty presence at the Ohio State game and the fact that they vote for the award, Penn State's 12th man was unable to take the Fight On State Player of the Week honor for Ohio State out of the grasp of linebacker Paul Posluszny.

With 14 tackles (six unassisted) and two for a loss, along with one sack, Paul Posluszny put on a linebacker clinic against the Buckeyes, a game which arguably boasted two of the best linebacker units in the nation.

Posluszny's Player of the Week honor is the second time this season the PSU fans have handed the junior captain the award. This week he was also honored for an unprecedented third time as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, selected by the Big Ten conference.

Here is how the voting ended up:

Tamba Hali 21.6%
Calvin Lowry 7.1%
Paul Posluszny 50.0%
Michael Robinson 1.1%

Here are the previous winners of the only Penn State football honor named by the fans of the Nittany Nation:

Minnesota: Offensive Line

Northwestern: Paul Posluszny

Central Michigan: Deon Butler

Cincinnati: Michael Robinson

South Florida: Tony Hunt
