Kanuch in no Hurry

Johnstown DB/WR enoyed the OSU game but intends to take his time while picking a school.

On a weekend when many recruits visited Penn State to see the Nittany Lions face Ohio State, Brad Kanuch came away impressed.

“I had a great time watching that game,” he said. “It was a lot of fun. I've been to Penn State so many times. The atmosphere was so much better than what it usually is.”

Kanuch, a 6-foot, 182-pound safety and running back from Westmont Hilltop High in Johnstown, Pa., who's being projected as a wide receiver or cornerback, is in no rush to make a decision.

“I'm definitely going to make a late decision, just because I want to be able to make all my official visits, you know, compare and contrast everything,” he said. “I'm going to make a decision after that, wherever I fit in and like the most.”

Kanuch is a Class AA state champion sprinter, and considers his speed, vision and play-making ability to be assets. He feels his weakness will be the transition from his original position to learning a new one in college.

Kanuch has family roots at Penn State, with his brother Jim, a senior receiver, and uncle Tom Bradley, Penn State's defensive coordinator.

He has one other official visit currently scheduled, to Maryland on Dec. 2.
