Austin, who is a standout junior defensive tackle from Coolidge High in Washington, D.C., took in the Nittany Lions' recent victory over Purdue at Beaver Stadium. If one were to say that Austin enjoyed his experience, they may just make the understatement of the year.
"Oh, the food. The food was off the hook," Austin said. "They had some ribs, some chicken breasts, some burgers and all kinds of stuff. I tore me up some ribs. They had to bring in another pan of those bad boys."
Believe it or not, Big Marvin did enjoy the game as well.
"Oh, that was crazy, now let me tell you, he said. That was my first time up there and man was it fun. There were so many people and they were all crazy. I want to go back up there this weekend. If I can catch a ride up there with [PSU verbal Aaron Maybin] I'm going back. I didn't know what to expect, but that place is impressive, now let me tell you."
Austin has especially taken notice of the recruiting efforts that Penn State has made in the Maryland/D.C. area this year.
"Everyone I talk to likes it up there, Maybin, Navarro [Bowman], [Antonio] Logan-EL, they're doing their thing down here now. I think it helps that Maryland isn't doing real well this year."
Austin currently holds written offers from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee and Virginia. He is hopeful that one will arrive from Penn State in the near future.
"I'm expecting it any day now, he said.
