Cronin's Status Changed?

Penn State nickel back Paul Cronin was dismissed from the team in mid-October. However, rumors have been swirling around a change in status with the senior defensive back. Is Cronin back on the team and preparing for Wisconsin?

Senior defensive back Paul Cronin was dismissed from the football team for disciplinary reasons back in mid-October. However, he made a return to the team this week and has been practicing since Monday.

Though Cronin is back practicing, observers don't expect him to see action Wisconsin Saturday. As one observer simply said, "He is not practicing to prepare for this upcoming game."

Cronin's practice reps this week have been with the scout team as a wide receiver and he has seen no snaps on the defensive side of the ball as of his return on Monday.

Cronin will be allowed to suit up for the Wisconsin game and will be on the sideline so he can be honored with the departing seniors. "It's a nice opportunity for him to close out his career the right way," another observer explained.

There is no word on whether Cronin will be allowed to play in a bowl game.
