Carter Gives Visit Update

Last weekend, Brent Carter took an unofficial visit to Penn State to see the Nittany Lions take on Wisconsin in a game for sole possession of the top spot in the Big Ten. The three-star running back from Pottsgrove High in Pottstown, Pa., had some of his questions about the program answered during the weekend, and the picture has become a little clearer.

“Probably walking into the stadium was my favorite part of the weekend,” Carter said. “There was the second-biggest crowd [in Beaver Stadium history] there against Wisconsin. When I was coming in, the students were all screaming my name, 'Brent Carter, Brent Carter.' It was nice. It made me want to put on a Penn State uniform right there.”

One question Carter had heading into the weekend was the exact position the Penn State staff was recruiting him at. By the end of the weekend, it became clear that the staff wants him as a running back.

“They're still recruiting me as an offensive player, I think running back,” Carter said.

There are about five or six schools Carter is seriously considering at this point in his recruitment. According to Carter, after the visit, Penn State landed in the top three.

“I consider Penn State one of my top schools,” Carter said. “I'm going to take visits to everyone. I have a top five with Boston College, Penn State, Minnesota, Syracuse, and a mix between Rutgers, West Virginia and Virginia. Out of those, Penn State is in my top three.”
