Odrick on UGA Visit

Four-star defensive lineman Jared Odrick is a highly coveted player for the Georgia Bulldogs this recruiting season. Last weekend he took his official visit to Athens and the big man came away thinking it was his best visit to date. Read all about it right here with Scout.com.

“The visit was great. Probably best so far. I got along with the players and coaches so much. I felt very comfortable and it’s a place I can come in and contribute early,” Jared Odrick said.

The Pennsylvania product enjoyed the atmosphere inside Sanford Stadium.

“The atmosphere was great. It’s right along there with Florida and the crazy atmosphere at the Swamp. They have very passionate fans and that’s something you notice.”

As is the case with most prospects on their first game-day visit to Athens, Odrick was impressed by the tradition known as the Dawg Walk.

“The Dawg Walk was crazy. It’s about the passionate fans once again. They all knew me by my first name and even the nicknames they call me back home. They had signs and T-shirts with my name on it as well.”

Downtown Athens also drew high marks from the Keystone State product.

“Kade Weston and I hung out and went downtown. Saw the Saturday nightlife down there. The town was crazy. I was down there this summer and it was good but now that the students are there it’s just that much more fun.”

Before leaving the Classic City, Odrick took some time to sit down with coach Mark Richt.

“Coach Richt said it’s a great situation and the feeling is mutual. He didn’t really talk X’s and O’s with me but he just told me about life and let me know how I can succeed at the University of Georgia.”

The visit has apparently put Georgia in great position to earn his signature come February.

“This improved Georgia with me but they were always up there. They are definitely near the top if not on the top right now.”

Jared will take his five and final official visit to Virginia this coming weekend. He had previously been on officials to Penn State and Virginia Tech and Florida.

“I go to Virginia this weekend. I’ll leave for Charlottesville on Friday and either return on Sunday or Monday.”
