U-M Commit to Visit PSU

Even though he still considers himself committed to Michigan, Brandon Graham has decided that he will visit at least one other school. To add fuel to the fire it is another Big Ten school and one of the Wolverines biggest rivals Penn State.

Scout.com's No. 2 rated linebacker Brandon Graham of Crockett High in Detroit, MI, has been committed to Michigan since February. The 6-foot-2, 250 pound, five star prospect has hinted since this spring that he may take a few visits and Penn State was a likely destination. It's now official Graham will visit Michigan this weekend and University Park In January.

"I'm visiting Penn State on January 14th," Graham said. "I'm going to Michigan this weekend."

Does the Penn State official change Graham's commitment status?

"I'm still committed to Michigan. I just want to take the visit and see what else is out there."

Ironically, despite being one of the top linebackers in the nation, Graham claims he only holds four scholarship offers.

"Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Indiana have all offered. I really don't have an explanation for it. Me and my coach talk about it all the time, maybe it's because I committed so early. Coach (Ron) Vanderlinden at Penn State contacts me a lot, so does Michigan and Indiana."

Another plus for the Nittany Lions is former Crockett defensive tackle Ed Johnson. Johnson was suspended from the team, but according to Graham he will be back at University Park in January.

"We don't discuss it a lot, but I will talk to him more about Penn State in January when he is back to school."

Graham, a U.S. Army All-American finished his senior season with 90 tackles, 10 sacks, and three interceptions despite missing three games with a partially torn MCL.

"I'm good to go now, it's 100%. I didn't need any surgery. Someone was trying to cut block me and they caught the side of my knee with their helmet."
