NitPick Awards: Defensive MVP

The NitPick Award for Offensive Most Valuable Player was a easy call for the Nittany Nation, with QB Michael Robinson pulling in over 90% of the vote. However, the honor of Defensive MVP may be a bit tighter race.

Jay Alford

The defensive tackle was a constant pocket pressure force this season with 33 tackles, seven sacks and one fumble recovery.

Tamba Hali

Hali was intrumental in containing six top 30 running backs this season. He had 62 tackles and led the defense with 11 sacks this season.

Calvin Lowry

Lowry was a consistent force in the secondary and ended up tied for third on the team with 73 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and four interceptions.

Paul Posluszny

Junior captain Paul Posluszny led the team with tackles this season with 111. The Butkus Award finalist also pulled down three sacks and had 11 tackles for loss this year.

Alan Zemaitis

The senior captain grabbed 47 tackles, forced and recovered two fumbles and had 10 pass breakups and five interceptions.
