Scout.com caught up with George Johnson Sr. to get and update on his son George Johnson and his official visit to Penn State. The 6-foot-4, 235 pound defensive end/outside linebacker from Glassboro, N.J., had previously committed to Virginia but wants to see other schools.
"It was good we got to experience a lot of things," George Johnson
Sr. said. "Everything was so big there, but it was enjoyable. We got to meet a lot of different people there. he made the early commitment, so it was important for him to get out and see other places and see how things are elsewhere.
According to Mr. Johnson the trip would have happened dregardless of the coaching situation at Virginia.
"We don't want to have any second guessing, just like buying a car even though you like it you should still test drive others. We had a great experience at Penn State, we'll have to figure things out and see where we're at. I think he's the next generation of outside linebackers, how many do you see that are 6-4/230 with good speed?"
