"It has been kind of busy. I am talking to a lot of schools right now. I just talked to Penn State and North Carolina State this week. They are both coming up to my school this week, and we are going to plan my official visits," Tomczyk explained. "Those are the two main schools that I am focusing on right now."
Tomczyk and his teammates won the State Championship a year ago, but they missed a playoff birth this year.
"It was a rough season. I had a lot of trouble with double and triple teams this year. I did not have as many tackles, but I don't think I played any worse, things just did not go as good as they did last year."
The Scout.com two-star prospect was able to make a number of un-official visits throughout the year, but one stuck out above the rest.
"I visited PSU for the Ohio State game. It was an intense game with a lot of people and a great atmosphere. The community around the game was something special. I talked a little with the coaches before the game, but we really could not talk much. It was a great game," Tomczyk said of the 17-10 Nittany Lion victory. "I also visited Penn State two or three other times last summer. I went to Rutgers and Virginia a couple of times as well. I liked both of those visits. They are continuing to recruit me, but they are not showing me as much interest as the other two schools."
Tomczyk concentrated on defense during his high school career, but he could wind up on the other side of the ball in college. This may be the reason the recruiting contacts of his top two schools coach the offensive line.
"Coach [Mike] Barry is recruiting me for NC State, and Coach [Dick] Anderson is recruiting me for Penn State. Both are great guys and I really like them." Tomczyk said.
