Royster Down to Two

As is often the case prior to signing day, the rumor mill is running at full speed. The message boards have been flooded with talk of commitments from Jeremiha Hunter and Evan Royster. caught up with Royster today shortly after school to hear his side.

Evan Royster the talented tailback from Westfield High in Chantilly, Va., denies the recent rumors of his commitment.

"I have heard the rumors around school all day," Royster said. "I have not committed anywhere."

Royster has narrowed down the field to two.

"I'll probably be having a press conference, but I'm not sure when. I'll decide between Penn State and Nebraska."

The 6-foot-1, 190 pound, running back recently visited Penn State and was hosted by freshman phenom Derrick Williams.

"It was fun I got too meet a lot of people, and hang out with Derrick Williams."

Royster is also very aware of the fact that he and LeSean McCoy were two of the top targets on the board at running back. McCoy who has enrolled at Milford Academy is temporarily out of the equation.

"That definitely made them more appealing."

Penn State is putting on the full court press in an attempt to land the talented back. On Tuesday the legendary Joe Paterno graced the halls of Westfield High.

"Yeah, Coach Paterno stopped by yesterday, it was pretty crazy. We sat down and talked about a few things."

Royster has not set definitive plans for his press conference, but he knows that when the time is right he'll know.

"I have no date set, basically when it's right I'll do it."

Royster earned All-Metro and Virginia AAA Northern Region offensive player of the year as a senior, He averaged more than 9.5 yards per carry finishing with 2,161 yards and 30 rushing touchdowns this season for the Bulldogs. His four-year totals are 750 rushes for 6,384 yards, 90 total touchdowns.
