Logan-El Picks the Nittany Lions

What had already been a big day for Penn State football recruiting got even bigger Tuesday at about 5 p.m., when massive Maryland lineman Antonio Logan-El picked the Nittany Lions over his home state Terrapins. This after star quarterback Pat Devlin's pledge to PSU became public earlier in the day.

Like Devlin, Antonio Logan-El had previously committed to another school, picking Maryland shortly after his junior season at Forestville High. But the 6-foot-6, 310-pounder had second thoughts as his senior year approached, and took a series of official visits. Though he did not visit PSU on an official basis, he saw enough on his trip in for the Oct. 8 Ohio State game to convince him Happy Valley was the place for him.

Logan-El is a five-star prospect who projects as an offensive tackle at the college level. He is the 22nd player to commit to PSU for the Class of 2006 and the sixth Maryland native to pledge to the Lions.

We will have more on Logan-El and an update on the commitment of fellow Maryland lineman Phillip Taylor shortly.
