Moore Highlights York Sports Night

YORK, Pa. — Hall of Fame running back and former Penn State All-American Lenny Moore highlighted a long list of stars, which also featured Nittany Lions E.Z. Smith, Lance Antolick, Isaac Smolko, Paul Cronin and Andrew Richardson, at the 41st annual York Sports Night. Find out who else was there and hear what these Nittany Lions had to say.

It was a festive night at the old Central York High School, as numerous sports luminaries took center stage for an autograph session, followed by roundtable discussions which covered various sports topics. Joining Moore and a contingent of five Nittany Lions were Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mark Simoneau, former Philadelpha Flyers goalie Bernie Parent, well-known outdoor writer and fisherman Bernard Kreb, former Major League baseball player and Lancaster Barnstormers manager Tom Herr, senior ACC basketball official Edwin "Duke" Edsall, Baltimore Ravens tight end Darnell Dinkins and ESPN Radio sportscaster Mark Kestecher.

The packed house at the autograph session delayed the scheduled start of the Sports Night festivities. By 7:30, however, following the introduction of several new members into the York Sports Hall of Fame, the sports roundtable discussions began.

The group of 2005 Penn State players made up the second of three roundtables, and responded to questions from emcees Ron Ruman, Wayne McCullough and Gary Sutton. Lenny Moore headlined the third group of stars.

FOS was on hand to obtain audio from the round table discussions and to conduct brief individual interviews with E.Z. Smith and Isaac Smolko in which they discussed the 2005 season, the Orange Bowl victory and their plans for the future. These clips offer a unique — sometimes funny — informal look at the present, past and future of Nittany Lion athletics. Moore's comments on his time under then-assistant coach Joe Paterno are well worth hearing.
