Lowry Live From Combine

Former Penn State safety Calvin Lowry checked into the NFL Combine this afternoon. Get an update on his measurements, which teams are showing interest and his thoughts on the next level of competition.

Penn State safety Calvin Lowry checked into the NFL Combine this afternoon in Indianapolis, measuring 5-foot-11, 200 pounds. Lowry will participate in the full combine workout for the NFL coaches and general managers at the event.

Lowry says he plays a physical game in the secondary and derives his style of play from an "angry streak" within him. Currently he is preparing for the draft, focusing on his strenght and speed, in Orlando, Florida.

Lowry comes from a military family and prior to Penn State lived in various locations like Germany, Georgia and North Carolina. His father grew up in Pennsylvania, which sparked his initial interest in PSU.

An early enrollee at Penn State, Lowry was initially recruited as a wide receiver, but shifted to safety early on in his career with PSU.

He is hoping to impress the NFL observers by running a 4.3 to 4.4 second forty yard dash. Describing his abilties he said, "People know me as the quarterback of our defense."

Both the Vikings and Jaguars have taken an initial interest in Lowry and have met with him already.
