"They've both offered," Wisniewski said of Penn State and Pitt. "Penn State is at the top of my list. I like their school a lot. They're definitely up there. I could see myself going somewhere else, but I know I always have that as an option, and I'll check out some other places. In the end I'll pick the best place for me.
"I'm interested in Michigan. They offered a scholarship at their junior day a month or two ago. Boston College and they've offered. I'm interested in Georgia Tech and they've offered. I'm also interested in Stanford."
Stefen attended Notre Dame's junior day in January, and he still has interest in the Irish despite a break in communication.
"I haven't talked with them in a while actually," Wisniewski replied when asked if he had spoken with the Irish coaching staff. "They're still recruiting me, I just haven't had a chance to talk to them in a while.
"I may go up to their camp this summer. Maybe they'll watch more film and see what they think [of offering a scholarship]."
Wisniewski is a lot of fun to watch on film. I'd love to have him on my defensive line, but most colleges are recruiting him on the offensive side of the ball.
"Offensive line," Wisniewski responded when asked which position schools were recruiting him to play. "I enjoy both sides of the ball. On defense making tackles and sacks is fun, but this year I developed an enjoyment for the offensive line…running people over and making blocks. Some colleges have said defensive line, but the majority have said offense and I'm happy with that."
It really hasn't mattered where Stefen played, he has always enjoyed being on the field, but there was a defining moment where he began to enjoy playing on the offensive line.
"I think this one defensive lineman was making me angry," Stefen recalled. "He was putting his hands in my face and stuff like that – some of the dirtier stuff that goes on at the line. I got a little mad and started throwing him on his back. That got me fired up. I had enjoyed [offensive line] before, but that's when I really started to get excited about offense."
On defense Stefen recorded 64 tackles, including 10 for losses and six sacks.
