PSU Making Game Gear Available

If you've been waiting for just the right time to buy a Penn State football jersey, Saturday may be the perfect opportunity. Because for the first time, the Nittany Lion program is making game-worn jerseys, helmets and cleats available to fans via a "Locker Room Sale." The event will take place near Beaver Stadium the morning of the Blue-White Game.

In keeping with the used-clothes theme of the event, the items will literally be sold out of the back of a box truck. It will be set up (along with a small booth) just across the street from the Jordan Center, right next to the annual Blue-White weekend carnival.

The sale starts at 11 a.m. and will run until everything is sold. A variety of jersey numbers will be available, with prices ranging from $199 to $450. Profits from the sale will be funneled back into the Penn State football program.

How authentic is this stuff? Some of the jerseys come complete with mud and blood stains.

Customers will only be allowed to purchase one item per person. The equipment will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. The salespeople will be able to take cash or credit cards.

Lists will be available so fans can see which numbers correspond with which players (and vice-versa) in Penn State history.

If you check out the sale, be sure to stop by the nearby tent to say hello.
