Allison Lists PSU Among Favorites

Josh Allison, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive tackle from Lake Orion, Mich., competed at the U.S. Army National Combine last January in San Antonio. Now Allison says he'll be competing on May 20 at the All-American Combine in Louisville. Allison is holding a scholarship offer from a Big Ten school.

Minnesota is the only school right now that has offered me a scholarship.” Allison said.

“Minnesota, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Northwestern, Michigan and Ohio State would be my favorites.

“I don’t have a leader right now. My cousins are playing college football. Roger (Allison) is at Michigan and Ryan (Allison) is at Michigan State. I just want to see how things shake out here in May and I’ll decide which camps I’ll be attending during the summer.”

Has Allison fielded any calls from college coaches? What else does he have planned for the near future?

“No phone calls yet, but Boston College, Indiana and a lot of the MAC schools have come through the school.” Allison said.

“I’ve been on recent visits to Northwestern, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Eastern Michigan. I’m going to the Penn State Nike combine and I plan on going to Penn State and Michigan for one-day camps.”

Josh Allison will be a three-year varsity starter in 2006.

“I’m being recruited as a defensive tackle,” Allison explained. “I had 108 tackles and 26 sacks last year and was named All-State. I was brought up to the varsity as a freshman for the play-offs.

“My strengths are my quickness off the ball and my speed. I’m always working to get better. I’m always working on my quickness, strength and footwork.”
