Elite 11 QB Wants PSU Offer

West Islip, N.Y., quarterback Ike Iloegbu has reasons to be optimistic these days. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound product of St. John Baptist Diocesan is starting to get some looks. "Temple and Syracuse are contacting me a lot," Iloegbu said. "In fact, Temple is coming to my school at the end of the month to take a look at me." However, Iloegbu is still waiting for an offer from Happy Valley.

Ike Iloegbu's team struggled last year with a 1-9 record but he stood out as a positive completing 60 of 89 passes for 1,160 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also racked up 809 rushing yards on 92 carries leading him to 2nd team all-league recognition.

Iloegbu does have a clear cut favorite at this point. "My favorite is Penn State, but I haven't heard from them yet," Iloegbu said. Iloegbu also has certain characteristics that he is looking for in his perfect college. "I am looking to go to a place where I can play early and a place that has the right style of offense and offensive play-calling to fit me," Iloegbu said.

Iloegbu has also participated in some combines this spring. "I was at the MSL combine at UConn and the Elite 11 combine at Penn State," Iloegbu said. "I actually did pretty well at the Elite 11. I came in 2nd place for the Golden Arm award for accuracy. I participated in the Scout.com combine at Rutgers."

Iloegbu also plans on taking the SAT's in June.
