Jersey Corner High on PSU

Pennington, N.J., defensive back Dominique Herald knows a little something about perseverance and he is applying that to his recruitment. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Herald holds only one written offer thus far from Maryland, but that doesn't mean that his recruitment is going slow. In fact Pennington is hearing from a variety of schools from around the country, including the Nittany Lions. See where PSU stands and Herald in action.

"I have an offer from Maryland and I am also hearing interest from Michigan State, Penn State, Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia, and Iowa," Dominique Herald said.

Herald played in only six games last year, two on a broken ankle, before missing the rest of the season. He still managed to total 50 tackles, four interceptions, three punt returns for touchdowns, and one kickoff return for a touchdown.

Herald does have a few favorites already in mind, but he admits it is early in the process. "Right now my favorites are Penn State and Maryland," Herald said. "I have liked Penn State since I was a little kid, I've been to games, the fans are crazy and the atmosphere is unreal. I also like Maryland because I have been down to visit and they showed me lots of love. They really show that they want me a lot."

Herald did not participate in any spring combines but he does have some summer plans in order. "I plan on visiting Boston College, Virginia, and Penn State for some one-day camps," Herald said.

Herald took the SAT's on May 6th and is still awaiting results.
