Jon Ditto pulled in 29 passes for 508 yards and five touchdowns this past season. With a myriad of offers from around the country, including Michigan, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Penn State, Gateway head coach Terry Smith discusses Ditto's recruitment and the timing of his decision.
Gateway head coach Terry Smith informed us that his talented tight end Jon Ditto
picked up a big offer this week. The offer came from a perennial Big Ten power who has an excellent history with flex-tight ends/H-Backs.
"Michigan assistant Scott Loeffler came in this week and offered him as an H-Back," Terry Smith said. "He has somewhere between 20-30 offers now."
Smith, also informed us that a decision is likely pending next month.
The favorites I think were Penn State and Pitt, but this new one from Michigan caught his eye," Smith said. "He is planning on announcing in June, but we haven't set up a date or time yet."
Aside from Michigan and Penn State Ditto holds offers from Kentucky, Iowa, Michigan State, Tennessee, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Pitt, Louisville, Akron, Ole Miss, and Syracuse.
