"It will be my second trip. I'll just be up there Monday with my mom and dad," Sukay explained when asked about his plans to travel to South Bend. "I was out there about two months ago. I didn't get a chance to really get to know the coaches because they were running practice. When I go out there I just want to get an overview of everything again and hopefully it will help me make my decision."
His visit to Notre Dame will be very important, but he hasn't informed the Irish coaches how important the visit will be.
"I'm not sure they know that [I'm making my decision] or not yet," Sukay said about his pending decision. "But they may be happy to hear that. I talked to coach Latina. We talked about the same old stuff pretty much."
Nick wasn't indicating the Irish staff would be happy with his decision, rather that the coaches would be pleased with the timing of his announcement.
The two in-state schools, Pitt and Penn State, are still very much on his mind. He has been to both schools in the past, most recently to Penn State where he picked up a scholarship offer.
Like Notre Dame, he will likely visit Pitt before making his announcement.
"I think so," Sukay replied when asked if he would visit Pitt. "I'm just trying to get an overview of both of them and make sure of my decision."
Once Nick gets back home he will take a little time to be certain of his college choice and then he will make the announcement.
"I'll talk it over with my parents and see how it goes," Sukay replied when asked about the timing of his announcement. "Hopefully I'll have it soon. I might have a press conference, but I don't know. I was talking to Bob Lichtenfels about it, but I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. Whenever I'm ready I'm going to do it. Nothing specific.
"I just want to get it over with that's all I can really say," he added.
Last season Sukay caught 29 passes for 660 yards and eight touchdowns. He also recorded 58 tackles, six interceptions and seven forced fumbles.
