Poz on Nagurski Watch List

He's already and All-American, won the Butkus and Bednarik awards, been named to the Lombardi watch list, so it is only fitting that senior captain Paul Posluszny is included among the 55 players on the Bronko Nagurski award watch list for 2006.

The Nagurski Trophy is given to the best defensive player in college football. The honor has been awarded by the Football Writers Association of America since 1993 and is sponsored by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

In 2005 former Nittany Lion and current Kansas City Chief, Tamba Hali, was a finalist for the honor. This year Paul Posluszny will be in the hunt for the award.

Posluszny took down a team high 116 tackles last season, becoming just the fourth Nittany Lion to post 100 or more tackles in consecutive seasons. With career numbers of 256 tackles and 25.5 tackles for a loss, Posluszny is on pace to set a new career tackles record at Penn State.

The senior linebacker will serve as a team co-captain for the second consecutive season.
