PSU Eyes Carolina...Again

The Nittany Lions coaches have added yet another offer from the Carolina to the PSU board, this time to Wesley Saunders, a 6-foot-5, 27 pound prospect from Durham (Riverside HS), N.C. This brings the known PSU offers to prospects in North and South Carolina up to six.

Recently, Wesley Saunders added Penn State to his ever growing list of scholarship offers. The Nittany Lions join Clemson, East Carolina, Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina and Wake Forest on Saunders' offers list.

Saunders claims that the Tar Heels as his leader.

As he said in a previous interview earlier this month, just prior to receiving his Penn State offer, "North Carolina is still on top, along with Wake Forest. I love the campus, the coaching staff, and mostly I can leave Carolina with a great degree because they have a great academic program. They're pretty close to home, too."

A Scout.com four-star prospect, Saunders is the 26th ranked defensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com

As a junior at Durham (N.C.) Riverside, Saunders earned all-region and all-conference honors after recording 20 catches for 308 yards and six touchdowns at tight end, and 52 tackles, four sacks, 14 tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles at defensive end.
