Arrington, Short Injured

Anytime LaVar Arrington misses practice, it's obviously cause for concern. So when the Giants superstar linebacker was sidelined for Wednesday's afternoon session, more than one eyebrow was raised. After practice, Giants coach Tom Coughlin confirmed that Arrington is dealing with an injury currently. Get an update on his status as well as Brandon Short's.

LaVar Arrington is currently dealing with a case of Achilles' tendinitis. He missed Wednesday's afternoon practice by the Giants's staff as a precautionary measure.

According to head coach Tom Coughlin, Arrington irritated the injury during an OTA (organized team activity) workout session on Monday.

It's uncertain whether Arrington will participate in one or both of Thursday's workouts, but all parties are hopeful that he'll be fine to go during the minicamp's final practice on Friday morning.

Two other free agent newcomers – LB Brandon Short (knee) and FS Will Demps (knee) – also were held to one practice, during the afternoon. Besides that, and nicks and bruises to reserve players like James Butler, who had a kidney injury, Lewis Kelly and Michael Jennings, the Giants had perfect attendance.
