FOS Akron Weekend Events

Another Penn State football season is upon us. And FOS is ready to celebrate the event with some cool stuff in Happy Valley. Learn where we will be and how you can buy your official FightOnState.com Whiteout T-Shirt (with proceeds going to a great cause).

While Penn State only chooses select games to launch official Whiteouts, you can get in the spirit every week with the FightOnState.com Whiteout T-Shirt.

Brought to you by FOS and our friends at Old State Clothing, the shirts sell for $9.95, with net proceeds going to the Nittany Lions' Lift For Life Charity.

Shirts can be purchased at Old State On Campus (in The Visitors Center next to Beaver Stadium). There are a limited number, so pick up your shirt as soon as you get into town or early on game day.

Speaking of Old State, FOS will webcast a show from the downtown store (310 E. Beaver Ave.) beginning at noon Friday. Listen in on the Internet or stop by and say hello as Mark Brennan, Jeff Byers and others discuss the Nittany Lions the day before they open the season with Akron.

We will have a link to the show from our message boards late Friday morning and intend to archive the show for folks who can't listen in live.

FOS was then planning on rolling onto campus, where we were to be a part of the Football Eve Celebration with a booth. Unfortunately, PSU has elected to cancel the event due to the weather.

We'll be handing out glossy stock Penn State rosters (while supplies last) Friday and Saturday at Old State Clothing downtown, as well.

And just a bit of advance notice: starting with the Youngstown State game, FOS will hold a Friday Happy Hour at the Lion's Den in downtown State College. We plan to do this before every home game starting with the YSU tilt. Stay tuned to FOS for details as that game gets closer.

In the meantime, when you arrive in Happy Valley this weekend, make a point of picking up your FightOnState.com Whiteout T-Shirt. Nothing marks a true Nittany Lion fan more than the words “Fight On State,” and it is all the better that net proceeds will go to the Penn State football team's Lift For Life charity and its fight against kidney cancer. Simple yet sophisticated, the shirts are sure to all the fashion rage in Happy Valley and around the Nittany Nation, so be sure to get in on the fun.
