The senior has a new role on the Penn State defense. But is he a linebacker or defensive end? In this FOS audio file, Shaw talks about it. Also hear from defensive coordinator Tom Bradley and junior linebacker Dan Connor.
Penn State opened with a unique look on defense in its 34-16 win over Akron at Beaver Stadium Saturday. Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley referred to it as a 3-5 but said little else about it. Outside linebacker Dan Connor called it a 3-4.
In the meantime, the player most impacted by the new look, fifth-year senior Tim Shaw, implied it is basically a 4-3, only with him playing the role of standup defensive end. He made the most of his new role against Akron, coming through with a pair of sacks on quarterback Luke Getsy.
Hear what Shaw had to say about the look in our exclusive audio file. Then check out what Bradley and Connor had to say.
