The Nittany Lion quarterback didn't duck the media after struggling against Ohio State Saturday. In fact, he spent more time talking with reporters than just about any PSU player.
COLUMBUS, Ohio After nearly single-handedly turning a tight game against the nation's No. 1 team into a late 28-6 rout, Penn State quarterback Anthony Morelli could have easily chosen to avoid the press. But the Nittany Lion junior did not. He was the last PSU player to emerge in the interview room and took his seat at the main microphone.
Yet while his teammates rallied him around him in the Q&A sessions, saying everyone was firmly behind the first-year starter despite his three interceptions (two of which went for late scores) against top-ranked Ohio State here Saturday, Morelli offered an honest assessment of himself.
I made mistakes, he said. I take all the blame.
Later, he said, "It's my fault. It's not the receivers or anything. I had a bad day."
