OL Sturdivant Considers PSU

A surprise name has made its way onto the Penn State recruiting radar: Trinton Sturdivant. A blue-chip offensive line prospect from North Carolina, he is considered a soft verbal commitment to Georigia. Will he visit the Nittany Lions?

Trinton Sturdivant, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound, four-star offensive lineman from Anson High in Wadesboro, N.C., is expected to make an official visit to Penn State this weekend as the Nittany Lions play host to Michigan.

“I'm hearing from Florida, Penn State, Notre Dame; but not really Georgia,” Sturdivant said. “The ones that I'm interested in are Florida, Georgia and Penn State; and Notre Dame and recently Auburn.”

Listed as a soft verbal to Georgia, Sturdivant plans to enroll in college in January. He visited Florida in late September and Notre Dame earlier in the month.

“In the beginning I was enjoying [the recruiting process], but it's getting hectic and stressful,” Sturdivant said. “I'm graduating high school early and I'm need to make a choice soon.”

In related news, FightOnState.com has learned that Arkansas standout Broderick Green will not be visiting Penn State this week. A USC commitment, Green is taking other visits, and is expected to check out Happy Valley sometime later this fall.

More than 60 prospects and family members are expected to visit Penn State for this weekend's showdown with No. 4 Michigan. But sources say only three of them -- Studivant, Pennsylvania standout Derrick Morgan and PSU commit Kevion Latham -- are the only ones who will be on official visits.
