Powell Talks Top Three

With a top three list in hand, Tydreke Powell talks about each program he is considering and where the Nittany Lions stand from his point of view. Currently Powell is preparing for the Shrine Bowl with PSU commitments Kevion Latham and Quinn Barham.

Tydreke Powell is one of the most talked-about defensive tackles on either team, and he is enjoying the Shrine Bowl week with just a few schools left on his radar.

"It went really good. Just getting after each other, I really can't wait to get on those red guys," said Powell, who added that he felt a good intensity from his teammates but he tried not to get carried away with his own hitting. "I'm not trying to hurt anybody. I'm going hard, but they need to play on Saturday, so we're just having fun yet.I'm not trying to hurt anybody. "I'm going hard, but they need to play on Saturday, so we're just having fun yet."

As for recruiting, Powell has now cut his list to a final three.

"Really, it is kind of crazy, but I've been able to get it narrowed down to three and that's (North) Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Penn State. I've just been liking Carolina for so long, Penn State they just know how to win, and I love the way that Virginia Tech plays defense and how they use their defensive tackles and the way they play.

"I'm going to take those visits, but I don't know if it is going to take all the way to February 7th. After I take my visits, and if I don't have to wait until then to make a decision, then I'll go ahead and get it all over with."
