Top WR Thinking About Visits

Michael Bush, ranked the #1 wide-receiver prospect in the country by TheInsiders.com, names his current favorites and the teams he may take official visits to.

Name: Michael Bush
Position: WR, QB, DB
Height: 6'3 1/2"
Weight: 230 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.5
Bench Press: 305 pounds
School: Male HS, Louisville, KY

Michael, an extremely versatile athlete, played wide-receiver, quarterback, tailback, cornerback, linebacker and safety for Male High School last season.  He spent most of the time on offense at the wide-receiver position, although this season he will see much more time at quarterback.

"Receiving, I had something like 60 catches for 1,090 yards and 15 touchdowns," Michael said.  "As a running back, I had around 6 touchdowns.  I also threw for about 3 touchdowns.  We didn't throw that much because our running game was going well.  I only played 2 games at quarterback."

He would prefer to play either quarterback or safety in college.

"Most of the schools are recruiting me as an athlete, they haven't given me a specific position.

"I have about 10 offers from teams like Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Indiana, Tennessee and Auburn."

According to Michael, Penn State has also offered him a written scholarship.

Which schools currently stand out right now?

"Ohio State, Louisville and Tennessee, the local schools," he said.

"I haven't taken any visits yet."

Which teams might he visit?

"I guess Tennessee and Ohio State, I think Notre Dame, maybe Oklahoma."

In a recent interview, Michael was quoted as naming Penn State among his favorites.

Is he interested in the Nittany Lions?

"Yes sir, I'm interested in everybody right now.  They have a good tradition and the program is real good there.  I used to watch them all the time on TV when I was young.  They also put a lot of people in the pros."

Michael has spoken with members of the Louisville, Kentucky, Tennessee and Oklahoma coaching staffs.  He will likely receive a lot of calls in a couple of weeks when coaches can resume calling prospects.

Michael is also a talented basketball player.

"I'm going to try to play both sports if I can.  They all said it's pretty much open, it's up to me.  I think I like football a little bit more."

Distance will not be a major factor in Michael's decision making process.

Michael has a 2.5 core GPA and will be retaking the ACT in September in an effort to obtain a qualifying score.
