Lions, Buckeyes Still in the Running for DE

Wilmington, Del., defensive end Devon Still is winding down his recruitment in the next few weeks. He has narrowed his decision to Penn State or Ohio State. Find out what Still thought of the Buckeyes' national title game, when both coaching staffs will visit and when he'll make a decision.

Wilmington, Del., defensive end Devon Still is a major recruiting target for both Penn State and Ohio State as we wind down toward signing day. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound product of Howard High School of Technology had narrowed his choices to the Nittany Lions and the Buckeyes as of a few weeks ago. Since then, Still was able to see both squads in their respective bowl games this January.

“The Penn State game was great,” Still said. “Ohio State struggled in their bowl game loss, but that is not a big factor in my decision.”

Still has been in contact with both schools, Ohio State more than Penn State recently.

“I have been communicating through text messages with both coaching staffs,” Still said. “The last I was text messaging with Penn State was around New Year's and I have text messaged with Ohio State a few times since their bowl game.”

Still has set up in-home visits with coaches from both schools for next week.

“Coach (Joe) Paterno is visiting my home next Tuesday and Coach (Darrell) Hazell from Ohio State is visiting sometime next week, I am not sure the day yet,” Still said. Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel has already visited Still, which is the reason Hazell is making the visit next week.

Neither team will have to wait long after their respective visits for a decision from Still.

“I am hoping to make my decision by next Friday (Jan. 19),” Still said. “I am not sure if I will have a press conference or just inform the coaching staffs.”
