Crunch Time Nears for Receiver Moye

Rochester, Pa., receiver Derek Moye recently visited Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-5, 178-pound product of Rochester Area High has narrowed his choices to Penn State and Pitt with a decision looming. Moye gives the lowdown on when both staffs will visit him in our latest update.

Rochester, Pa., receiver Derek Moye has narrowed his choices to Pitt and Penn State in recent weeks. Last weekend, the 6-foot-5, 178-pound product of Rochester Area High took his official visit to Pitt. He had previously visited Happy Valley in early December.

“I thought the official visit to Pitt went really well,” Moye said. “I think I saw everything that I needed to see on my visits to both schools, they both matched up pretty well.”

Moye is being recruited by Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley and by Pittsburgh assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator Bob Junko. Moye is expecting to see both with their respective head coaches in the coming weeks.

“Next Friday (Jan. 19) Coach Junko and Coach (Dave) Wannstedt will be visiting my school and my home,” Moye said. “The following Wednesday (Jan. 24) Coach Bradley and Coach (Joe) Paterno will do the same. I will probably make my decision in a press conference later that week.”

Moye has had the opportunity to see both schools and talk to both coaching staffs for quite some time now, making for a very informed decision.

“I think I already know what I need to know about both schools,” Moye said. “I just need to sit down with my family and discuss where I am most comfortable with the coaches, players and the environment of the campuses.”

Stay tuned for updates on how each coaching staff's in-home visits impact Moye and a specific date for his press conference.
